OK MN guys, I have a couple of questions for you non-purists that have put a boyd's stock on your MN. First question does it have a slot for a bent bolt? And now the second question... Can some one give me the measurements of the barrel channel? I am looking to put a new barrel on my action and want to know how big the channel is... I probably will not buy the barrel until I get the stock but I am studying barrel contours... Thanks in advance!

No there's not a groove for a bent bold you'll have to cut/sand one out and the barrel channel is cut for the standard barrel profile. If you want to free float the standard profile you can use a 1/2 inch sand paper wrapped dowl rod. If you want to but a heavy barrel into it you will just need to sand it out some more.

There is no groove required for a bent bolt on the Boyd stock or any original Mosin stock for that matter either.
