We have two other important -- and quite fascinating -- foreign stories tonight. We might introduce the first with a question: Which country -- after Israel and Egypt -- receives more foreign aid from the U.S. than any other? The answer is Colombia, where they are having a presidential election this weekend. There are two points to make in our piece from Bogota tonight: First, there may never have been a campaign quite this dangerous -- complete with assassination attempts and the kidnapping of a prominent candidate; second, this vote matters enormously to the United States, not only because of all that U.S. money, but because, as one candidate has said to an American reporter: "I know you have big problems in the Middle East and Afghanistan. But this is your backyard. And your backyard is on fire." Jeffrey Kofman reports tonight from Bogota.
