I can never make it to all the shoots, either, and my scores aren't the best. I'm slow, overweight, and just plain not very fast. BUT... that won't stop me from trying to do better. If I can ever get competitive, I will. I will also have fun doing it. Just like playing baseball as a kid. I played hard, played to win, and always had fun. I had a mediocre batting average, and wasn't the best player, but I tried hard, and enjoyed every minute of it. If I lost, or didn't play very well, I just shrugged it off, and vowed to do better next time. I usually did.
No, I'm not a gamer, but I do enjoy doing my best, and when my best is good enough for a good score, I enjoy it even more. If my best is better than my best last week, that's good, too. That's progress.
