How compatible are Charles Dalys with standard 1911s? I saw a beautiful one at the last gun show. And are they good quality?

I bought the 1911 in stainless when they first came out. After about 700 rounds of mild handloads the guide rod started to mangle the frame the gun shot ok. I traded it in on a Springfeild 1911 Loaded A-1 I like the Daly but I love the Springfeild. Just didn't want a frame crack at around 1400 rounds. Hope this helps yeah let me know if you have any questions. The Springfeild is twice the gun and it should be it was twice the money. P.S. my Daly predated the warranty.

BRG3, the Dalys used to only have an 80% interchangeability. I bought an early one (Serial #CD0057) and had trouble with barrels, bushings, and grip screws. The newer one I have has 100% interchangeability, according to KBI. HTH
