We all know what chickenhawks are?

Leaders who have not served in the armed forces or fired a shot in defense of his country.

Well, what do you all think of our elite Chickenhawks beating the war drums?

El dubya, Rumsfeld, Cheney, The Defense Policy Board, etc.. all wanting to go to war - is Saddam a real/viable threat to us here in the states? if so, how? and how do you see him attacking us? if we don't attack him first.

Are we stretching our armed forces too thin?

Is China waiting for such an oppritunity?

    Give it up ladies.

At least they were not ****ed draft dodgers or photographers claiming to be war heroes.

China IS waiting for us to attack Iraq. Then they will invade Taiwan. Fighting a two-front war is not a good idea for us right now.

Communist China is waiting on the side for the right moment to strike and that'll be when Taiwan's allies are occupied elsewhere with a higher priority, as Lenny2 said.

History is probably on China's side by just waiting. It's not exactly like when Hong Kong moved back under control of China. I don't think the USA will always be ready to defend Taiwan unless there's an economic reason to keep supporting their independent state. Economics has oftentimes been the real motive for getting into some wars.

We need to help the Chinese government, which is now residing in Taiwan, recapture the mainland from the rebels.

Although I loathe some of the practices of the Chinese, I have to agree with Klaus. They may not be the most humanitarian, but they are the lesser of the evils out there......

Can't you read what I said?????? GEEZ! All 3 of you seem unable to understand plain English. Try actually reading my post instead of skimming.

In case you still can't understand what I said, here it is in different words: We should help Taiwan, where the LEGAL government of China is operating in exile, recapture the mainland from the communists.

As stated by former President Ronald Reagan
"...freedom is never really free; it is the most costly thing in the world. And freedom is never paid for in a lump sum. Installments come due in every generation. All any of us can do is offer the generations that follow a chance for freedom. In the final analysis, this is the assurance that our National Security Strategy seeks to provide.

BTW, GW was a fighter pilot in the Guard. We only have the opportunity to be heros when they ring the bell. The bell rings more for some than others.

Also, there has ben a first strike & I'll bet Iraq has it's fingers in it somewhere along the line.

  12. Personally

    Howdy,

Personally I look at why they did not serve. If they signed for the draft and were never called, or went into the natl Guard and were not activated, so be it. I personally did not enlist as they told me uh, uh due to my back. But I did register with selective service (them thar draft people) when I turned 18.

But I also look at this as i do football coaches. Just because someone was a football player, and a great one at that, it does not automatically make them a good coach. I think the same can be true for chickenhawk type leaders. IMHO.

the easiest thing in the world to do is send someone else off to war.

It really pisses me off when someone uses absolutely no tact during some of these discussions. If the shoe fits, wear it.

I get the hint. I may have slightly overreacted, but is extremely irritating to have people totally misconstrue my posts because they do not read it all the way. Here are 3 posts in a row by people who seem to think I said the OPPOSITE of what I actually said.

    Howdy Klaus!

I was merely answering the posted question, I intended no offense to you and I hope none was taken. I understood your point straight away.

No, I was not referring to you. I was talking about the posts from Alan C., Calvin, and OneAstrix. I noticed that Alan deleted his post. I said that we should support Taiwan recapturing mainland China. This was followed by 3 replies discussing my alleged support of the communists, which was the opposite of what I said. I strongly oppose communism, as well as most other forms of socialist governments.

  18. Yes Klaus I got ticked at you and pulled my post--childish on my part. I can understand plain english just not technical plain english. I now understand your post.

You seem to have elaborated a little bit, but that's just my humble opinion, Klaus. A person of average intelligence would, in fact, read your first post the way the three of us did. Now that you have reiterated it, it makes perfect sense. I will remove my post as Alan did; though it was never meant to offend you in any way, shape or form. Now take a deep breath and wipe your emotions off of your sleeve....
