A friend has one of these Mausers in the original 7.63 Mauser loading. He loads the 7.62X25 Russian cases for it (it needs a somewhat lighter loading) and it shoots pretty well. It is actually better balanced than it looks, and feels fairly good in my hands. It tends to shoot high, but groups well.

Oh yeah. I've an old Red Nine that's one of my favorite shooters. It's not as accurate as the .30 Mauser caliber, but still fun. I've seen a few of the Chinese clones, not very well made. The .45 version, though, seems to be an exception. Made by a warlord named Shansi, I think- very good fit and finish. I'd love to have one- there's a company called IAR that sells them for around $1000.00

Yeah, Jesse- the Model 712 Scnellfeuer. They came with 20 and 50 round mags. They also made some carbines with a 13.2 inch barrel. Hook on the wood buttstock and you have a butt-whompin little firearm if you can find one , afford it , then risk hurting its value by firing it. Of course, I guess the guys that can afford to pay $25,000 for a toy don't really care about that sort of thing.

(Oops- just looked up and realized that logansdad already had the IAR thing covered...sorry!)

i own one of these purchased about 9 years ago. I fired mine at about the
5 th round the integral parts in the frame failed this could have me look even
more handsome than i am now in fairness to the distrubitor the gun was fixed same lower frame but i havent shot it sense ,possibly improper heat treating or lack there of. possibly poor quality steel ,weak springs or all of the above .and yes this was standard factory loaded .45 230 grain ball ammo any suggestions ? im totally listening thanks james
