I finially received a family heirloom from my Great Uncles estate, Id been waiting so long for the estate legal settlement that I had almost given up. But anyways its a Colt 1911 with a 1913 production date but all original. Still has the wood grips that show wear and the blued finish is worn with some slight pitting in a couple spots. But is all original, even has the WWI style magizine with the lanyard loop. But the only detractor is it must of been left dirty through the years as the barrel is pitted abit, but is still shootable. But I have a spare barrel for when I take it to the range.
When I took it apart there was still mud down in the frame buy the barrel link. I know he was over in Europe in WWI and was in combat but he never talked to anyone about what his expeariences were and where he fought. If this weapon could talk I would love to sit and listen.
