I know this has been mentioned before but I can't find the old posts so here goes: Can a steel framed Detective special handle +P loads ( absolutely no steady diet) I mean one cylinder full maybe every 400 rounds or so? I carry one from time to time and I would like to carry +p in it and would like to fire just enough rounds to be good with them and get used to the added recoil. What say you?

Don't see why it couldn't...Colts are some of the finest and strongest firearms made. Wouldn't do it constantly like you said, but it'd be a fine carry load in a fine pistol.

Thanks Joe. It does seem to be a well built gun. And hey I am an auto man myself. But I keep it in an ankle holster and it seems to wear good down there.

I likes my autos too, but prefer a good wheel gun for conceal...Taurus MDL 85. If that can handle +P loads, your Colt sure can.
