Greetings all

How do later models of the detective special hold up to +p ammo?

Is it something that can be fired frequently without much worry?

Many thanks

A revolver right? I'm pretty sure that, for any gun, if the manufacturer doesn't explicitly state that firing a certain extra-powered ammo through their gun is okay, then it's NOT SAFE. It's just not something you want to risk, IMHO. See what the other, more-experienced guys here say about it to make sure, though.
Respectfully,

I have one. Its safe but I wouldn't put a steady diet in them. My advice is this: try a few for familiarization ( 12-18 rds). If you are going to carry the +p all the time then maybe you shoot one box of 50. But I wouldn't go to the range every week ands shoot three or four boxes through it. There are some good .38 special shells out there that are powerful enough. If you need more power get a .357 mag.
