Hi to all. I have a question regarding a Colt Python I own. It is a mint condition 1976, royal blue, 4 inch barrell. I have the original box with serial number but the cardboard part of the box is not in great shape, the inner styrofoam and booklets are. This gun has in all probability never been fired other than factory test firing. I dont want to sell the gun but I would like to trade it for an electric guitar of similar value. Therefore, what would be the approximate value for this piece? Thanks for your help in advance.

You may do better to take it to somebody in your area and get it appraised. Perhaps somebody who auctions guns. Then sell it and buy the guitar. To barter a Python for a Stratocaster may take some doing. Not to be smart, but that's why we have money, to facilitate trade. It will be easier for you to find someone to give you money for the Colt and to take money for a guitar than to look for somebody willing to trade a guitar for a gun.
