Yep, I'd actually forgotten to post these rascals up...
better late than never ;)

What we have here is a CS45 & CS40,
the Chief's Special semi-auto's from the 1990's.
I've managed to find 3 mags for each...
altho technically 7 mags for the CS45,
as it shares mags with my Star M45 ;)

They shoot well.
As expected for a couple short-barrel,
close-range specialists. Minute of deadguy.

Only thing they both need, even after
repainting the sights with Hi-Viz paint,
is night sights or fiber optic fronts.

Gun Firearm Trigger Red White

Gun Firearm Trigger Photograph Red

The only other thing is that the CS40
does NOT have an ambi safety...
there is a fix for that,
but as of yet, I'll let it lie.
Other Irons in the Fire, as they say ;)

Yeah very nice and sought after now. I know recoil springs are available just in case you're interested Shrek. Maybe Midway I heard on S&W Forum. Seem like the ideal compact hideout pistol with a punch. My CS-9 is from 99. The blued models were only made a short time but I liked the looks of the stainless. Just wish I would have kept my 39-2 as that and Model 19 K frame are sought after now. Recall paying $125 for my 39-2 back in 74. Hold onto them CS series!! I like the "Goodyear" grips by the way but have seem em with Big Dogs

I've been looking locally for a .45 Chief's Special for quite some time, but they're scarce as hen's teeth around here. I know where there's a nice one for $900. It's a little too nice for me at that price.

Sounds like they may be holding their value very well. I just looked at the receipt for my CS45. I paid $519 for it new in May 2003, from Sportsman's Warehouse.

Paid $450 at a Local Pawn Shop for my CS45.
I didn't even haggle, just shut up & paid the man!
:D

Paid...I think $350 for the CS40 over in Tallahassee
at a Pawn Shop on Monroe Street ;)
Just did a little hagglin there...

Deals are out there, and probably more will be
coming out soon, since Trump won...
many folks are probably going to sell off their
single-stacks & opt for doubles...
so if one keeps an eye peeled...a deal will happen!

I had a CS9 for the wife, she really struggled with the slide, so I sold it to one of buddies. I still have my CS45, it's one of my favorites.
You should have sent it to the Performance Shop,
S&W would have buttered up the action, and could have added a front set of serrations for better grip :)

S&W's performance shop has some pretty
reasonable prices, for what they can do...
