I really like the feel of the.44 Tracker,4" barrel. Searched Taurus,s site looking for one in .41 mag. The model 425 in.41 is archived, like all their .41,s. Was there a problem with the older models or low sales of .41 ? Just curious and would like to find one. Anybody,s gonna know it more than likely will be here!

There is a whole of one on gunbroker. Starting at 99 bucks and no reserve. I have the snubbie in 44 mag, have yet to shoot it but feel fit and finish are very nice. The action ain't too bad either.

I think you might pick this up pretty reasonable.

I don't know about problems, but according to gunbot .41 Mag ammo is pretty expensive: most of it starts around $1/round and goes up quickly from there. That would put me off.
41 mag brass is not hard to come by, I bought a bunch of it to convert to 41ae. Bullets are also readily available. After a couple of reloadings you can be shooting the 41 just about as reasonable as any of the large caliber revolvers.

Ahhh, but I reload. Once I get the cases I'm good.

Ditto on the reloading,Gandog, I have enough brass and bullets to shoot for a long time.Just like the cartridge and my Ruger. I just think a small frame Taurus or a Ruger SP101 in .41 mag would be a great revolver .
I love the 41 Mag, when loading bullets of the 250 gr range it is an amazing round that is right up there with the 44 mag.

I didn't know Taurus made a 41, but you can still get the Ruger Blackhawk for a fair price.

338 that,s what I got, a blackhawk that has been most places I have been. It has it,s share of venison, and if those wild pigs cross it,s path I think I know who wins! Was just thinking about a different launch platform for my ammo , 10-4. By the way, 296 used to be my fav powder in .41, but Lilgun has won that spot . Neat powder, excels in .41 mag AND .22 hornet !
That was my problem when i found the blackhawk! My first 41 Mag is a S&W model 57 4" and i liked it so much when I saw the blackhawk 4 5/8 version I had to have it. My problem is now getting a throat reamer for both, as the cylinder throats only measure .409 on each, I have plans to ream them out to ,411-.412 for better cast shooting.

I'm not sure why you think that's relevant; I wasn't talking about you.

OK, you weren't like saying the ammo is too expensive to shoot one, which would put off others?

I said "That would put me off". And by that I meant it would put me off; that should have been pretty clear. I said nothing about "others" because I'm not speaking for anyone else.
I don't understand how some people post an opinion and then react when someone else posts a contrary position. Mr. Nerd said the the expensive ammo put him off. Mr. Gandog said it didn't matter to him because he reloads. Why is anyone getting their nose out of joint? If someone offers a opinion they have opened the door to discussing that opinion. Mr. Gandog offered Mr. Nerd a possible solution to his expensive ammo issue.

If I offer that I don't like ARs because they jam I fully expect that to be challenged or otherwise have the error of my ways explained to me. Sure, I didn't SAY others should avoid ARs, but really, did I put it out there NOT to 'advise' others, or at least to be asking if the jam issue is valid? Was I just exercising my fingers on the keyboard?

To be sure I notice this on many forums, not just G&G.

Mods, feel free to delete this if I've crossed some line.

OK, that doesn't go both ways? I was just saying it wouldn't put ME off.
Ok boy,s , I just threw out a minor wish list of sorts and now it seems we are wandering off track a tad! bobvonb, now that season you have drawn SURELY would require the accompaniment of at least .41 mag! Even if it is only to ward off sabre toothed squirrels!
By the way, Gunbroker .41 up to 306.00 . guess i,ll watch that a bit

I don't know. Just am dubious of hunting with a 4" barreled pistol.
405.01 is what it ended at. I think that was a deal.

It isn't too bad hunting (ok distance shooting, i have yet to hunt with em) with the 4" version. You just have to focus on the sight picture a bit better.

With a good load and rest I can hit a 6" paper plate with a full cylinder at 100 yards. Now off hand I am good only to 40-50 yds and will be looking for an improvised rest.
Wish I could have played on that auction,405 seems like a decent price,IF there wasn,t anything wrong with it.I think that 4 in. barrel makes for a good carry backup, you know like when your hunting with a rifle and that venison walks right up on you.Something satisfying about getting groceries with a wheel gun.
