checked a harvested wheat field last week. the place is swarming with doves in the middle of the day.went out the 1st of sept ,opening day . DOVES ARE ALL GONE!! none on the feed and only a few any where near the field. didn't even load the gun. maybe there will be another wave of migrants--- hoping.

LOL - My son and a couple of his hunting friends experienced the same thing on opening day as well. It's quite hilarious watching grown men going through hunting withdrawals when they come back empty handed. He said the the best part of the day was getting a delicious breakfast and some hot coffee.

when I was growing up in Miami, there was great dove hunting. lots of un posted farm fields and in expensive managed dove fields. now everything is posted and the managed fields are $50. last I heard. I haven't shot a dove in years. 😟
