Does any one know where one can be purchased or imported?

The last I knew the US Army Reserve Marksmanship Training Unit had a few laying about.

They are select fire weapons so unless you are Military Agency or Law Enforcement Agency you ain't gonna get ahold of one. There hasn't been a semi-auto version offered yet although one was rumored 25 years ago. Maybe one could build one from an L98 but I really don't know for sure.

You might be able to find an importer willing to jump through the hoops to get an L98A1 Cadet Training Rifle. That's the straight pull, manually operated version. It looks the same and uses M16/STANAG magazines. You just have to manually pull the bolt for each shot. However by not being one of those evil semi-autotomatic rifles there should be no restrictions to own one.
