Having found low priced barrel sources, I'm reconsidering the idea of building a custom 1911 pistol. Here's what I've found: Extended barrels, USGI compatible at www.45gunparts.com/parts_list.html , others at gun show 6" slide at www.caspianarms.com/6slides.htm Double stack kits at http://www.entreprise.com/Product.htm -> Handguns -> Widebody -> Frame From the looks of it, it appears that they are all compatible ad that these would contain most of the parts necessary for a complete pistol, less the hammer and safety. Think standard 1911 parts would finish the job? I have a friend who has a Norinco 1911, so I expect that with experience from that, a book, and advice from you guys I could put my dream pistol together. Yes, no, maybe, G3 you're on crack?
