Thinking of going to a Gun Show in central Florida this coming weekend and was wondering if I'm allowed to carry my conceiled weapon into the gun show. I have a conceiled weapons license issued in Florida. If allowed, do I declare it at the door? What are the laws concerning this? Hopefully, someone can answer my questions. Thanks ...

probably not, i wouldn't.

when crossroads comes to phx to veterans memorial it's $10+ to park and don't want to have to leave it in the car, if it's posted, in a "not too nice neighboorhood".

Well if it is anything like in PA, your not allowed to have a loaded weapon period at the show, concealed or not. No carrying.

Only allowed to have a gun in hand if your selling, then they will put a colored zip tie through it and or if your buying one from the show.

the LAW says you are good. you dont have to declare or anything but if they check and state you cant , then you have 2 options. comply or leave and being as you are entering on to a private venue of your own accord they have the right to check your persons with " reasonable " methods

Nobody other than Law Enforcement is allowed to carry a loaded gun in a Gun Show in FL. You can bring your unloaded gun in. They check it at the door and put a zip tie through the barrel so it can't be loaded. Any loaded gun is considered illegal no matter what license you hold unless you are active law enforcement.

According to the signs outside of AL gunshows it's a felony to enter with a loaded weapon. The same sign is present around pawn shops.

It could be a lie, but it might not be.

regardless all gun shows i have been to must secure the firearm, as its the private events stand point of every gun show, so if you decide to carry and not follow the events rule, you are still doing something illegal

That is completely wrong .
Illegal is defined as breaking the law . Breaking private party rules in no way violates the law unless you have a signed contract and then you are breaking administrative law which is not criminal.
I have never been called out to a gun show and none of the other officers I work with have either and as of today none knew of any Florida statuette that made it illegal to carry inside ( granted the only gun shows around here are patrolled by the sheriffs office not by PD ).

So I would like to see proof that the statuette exists please.....

I was a LEO in Florida. There is no 'law' that makes carrying a concealed weapon inside a gunshow illegal. The sponsor may declare that no concealed weapons are allowed. If challenged you must leave, or be faced with a possible 'trespass after warning' arrest. The LAST place you want to pull out a gun if something happens is in a show. You would probably have a hundred assault rifles aimed at you in seconds.
I believe many individuals carry and hope not to be challenged. If they are challenged, most comply and return the gun to the car, or allow it to be wiretied. (unloaded)

At local Gun Shows in NWFla, they have a few deputies at the door...

All they do is look for weapons, secure them, and you go on your merry way.

If you are an off-duty LEO, show your badge, it's not an issue.

If you aren't a LEO, it's almost the same as any normal Mom & Pop Gun Store.
Use yer nugget.

If the gun show is in such a bad area as you feel the need for your CCW to be Limber...
You unload your piece before you go in, accept the plastic strip, and when you get out the door,
cut the mofo off & slip in a full mag after you walk out the door.

But if there is ONE place bad guys generally don't wanna be, it's where there are 5 cops at the front door,
and a fair smattering of ATF/etc agents wandering about.
Not exactly odds in their favor ;)

You can ask the officer for proof as he is cuffing you or in the police car on the way to jail.

ok by not following the rules you should not be there, failure to do so is considered trespassing since its a private event

regardless, its a really DUMB idea to have a loaded gun in a gun show, thats how accidents happen, you can load it once you get to the parking lot in your car, i just leave my loaded mag in the car

wrong again
not following the rules is not following the rules. you are not tresspassing until i am called and someone empowered to make the decision on the owners behalf actually requests that you are escorted off the property in which case we write a little piece of paper with a bunch of info on it.
i think maybe you should go to the academy first before you start trying to hand out advice on the matter like some of us have....

are you just trying to argue? i mean, its been agreed by 99.99% of everyone ive talked to that carrying a loaded gun in a gun show is RETARDED

use to be vendors could do it, a few years ago some guy shot his 12 year old son in it looking at the vendors personal carry gun, not realizing it was hot. which is why the only people who are ALLOWED (as in the only people permitted by the organization heading the gun show on private property, and a failure to follow the rules will get you kicked out) are police
