forced matching ??????

    forced matching Serial numbers Ive seen this term used but never realy understood what it ment. IS this when copanys engrave new numbers into a part or what? How can you tell?

    forced matching is when used parts are reassigned new numbers. for example my latest mosin the receiver, bolt and magazine are original matching numbers the buttplate has another number xxed out and the matching number restamped on it. hope it helps some!!!!:D :D :D

    Bob, it's kinda like when you enlisted in the Marines-you were forced to match everyone else. HTH.

    Ok makes sense...Like when I was a Marine recruiter and promised air caraft reapir and then typed infentry on the contract...the original numbers are xx out and new numbers put in....can see how that would inpact the value..thanks all.
