Hey guys, I found a turkey nest of 10 turkey eggs right at the edge of my feild! That is only about 30 yards from my house! I am surprised that a hen would lay her eggs so close to my house. I read that a hen will keep her eggs warm for about a month, then they hatch. So ill be leaving that area alone for a while. More turkeys means more turkey hunting. PS. I thought they were snake eggs at first and I was about to shoot um' up whith the 12 gauge, glad a did my research.

i don't know if its a good idea to keep going around the nest...don't know about turkeys and eggs but don't alot of animals abandon nests, etc. after they have been disturbed?

That's correct. Even if they're not disturbed, if the smell of a human is on a baby duck, the mother will abandon it.

I don't know how turkeys work in the wild, but it's probably best to just leave it be for now until they've hatched.
