Free-floating a K31 barrel...

    With help of shims in 4 thickness sizes.
    Action screw tightening sequence is first #"1" dead tight and second #"2" the tang screw.

    So, what kind of a difference does free floating the barrel of a K31 make?

    Range report? :)

    Study accurizing of a K31 and you'll learn why.
    A 1896 action rifle has a barrel collar where the barrel leaves the wood, a K31 has not and often needs some re-adjusting after some 50 plus years in a closet, wood tends to work over the years.
