This is a progression of my latest carbine project.
1. the barreled NPM receiver from CMP...barrel was scrap.
2. A new chopped Winchester barrel from Fulton Armory. Saved 14-1/2 inches and added a flash hider to make it legal at 16-1/4 inches.
SeaBee Scotty accomplished this by sweating on the flash hider after facing the muzzle.
3&4. Horribly mismatched stock extension that obviously needs rework.
5. Firing group with refinished reworked stock in OD green. There was no way to match the three different wood colors so primed and painted the stock.
6. That's all folks!

There was alot of fitting needed during the project but I do believe it was worth the effort. That new barrel shoots very well.

Jim, I'm hanging on to the old barrel as a reminder that water, dirt, grim, and steel don't make good companions.
After scrubbing it out really good, better than half the barrel was trash as was the chamber...I expected that...funny, though, the first 6-8 inches from the muzzle end are clean and shiny; so was the mouth of the chamber. Can't figure that out.
Shoots good...now a trip to the range.

And it's cool that you were able to turn it into a very original weapon.. I bet you won't find another like it..

No issues at this point. I've fired it for function and it works well. The range will be the true test but with a new barrel it should do fairly well...I'm hopin'.
Gotta remember, I've got 3-1/2" more barrel than Universal's Enforcer; and it functioned well. The short stroke piston allows for that.

Range time

Took the little project to the range to see how she'd shoot.
Both surprised and satisfied at 50 yards .
110 gr of LC72 Chinese ammo that is nearly 20 years old.

Would an Ultimak rail fit on that?....that would make an awesome SHTF weapon indeed. As long as you have a good stock of .30 carbine ammo

The Ultimak rail on that would certainly make it very tacticool, but in a good way.

Fulton Armory sells an upper handguard that has a rail system built into it.
I won't use it on this model, however. I had a specific look in mind when I built her so will stick with it.
I did, however, purchase another new chopped Win barrel from FA for maybe another application.
