Might be a bit of a wierd question but here goes.I have in my ammo collection a loaded garand clip. The ammo has been in it a LONG time.It has started to get corroded.I know it might be hard to answer without the headstamp. These are FMJ with black paint on the projectiles? What does the black paint mean?

Hey Murph, on a side-note, be careful of using Remington UMC 150 grain MC. I have found (unfortunately) that the M1 Garand has a funny way of tearing the rims off the cases during extraction. It is not a show-stopper... but you end up needing to rod the barrel to get the brass out of the chamber. I shoot Lake City ammo out of mine now and have no problems at all.
