A friend and I both recently purchased two garands - we are trying to figure out a rough estimate of the time frame they came from. DO these serial #s mean anything to you guys? Thanks!

SN# 222XX13 & SN# 700XX61

P.S. the 700 Garand has a "P" stamp right behind the trigger, and a tiny eagle with three dots above it in a circle on the back of the stock.

Thanks for the website jerry! That was helpful....does that mean that the SN 700 Garand has an aftermarket receiver from SA?

The 7 million is a Springfield Armory aftermarket receiver and there known to be good. There not the same as Springfield Armory from WWII and Korean era rifles. The 2 million is December 1943 Hope this helps. Rick B
