    If 7-11 is open 24 hours a day 365 days a year, why are there locks on the door?

    Why are people who "need no introduction" always introduced?

    Bra is short for brassierre, which was a single corset type torso covering. A pair of glasses is made of two lenses or "glasses". Two earrings make a pair of earings. A "pant" is a protective covering for 1 leg. Two of them make a pair of pants, though nowadays they are generally joined together, unless you are an equestrian or biker.
