Gun Prices Dropping?

485 Views 18 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  Vintage Racer
I've been following firearm prices on Gunbroker and for the most part, they seem to be dropping a bit...all of them except the ones I want, usually ones no longer in production. Here are a couple I'd like to own, but just can't turn loose of that amount for that item!!!

First one is not horrible, but borderline! The second one is ABSURD! Third is a bit high, but will go way higher in the following 5 days of the auction.

I haven't been actively shopping for a while but my local guy makes a weekly Facebook video about his new inventory and specials and his pricing is acceptable, if I were to want to buy. I was kind of tempted by the 12 ga. AR but that disappeared within 48 hours of arrival.

I say prices are down 10% after a big 40% increase.

This happens while your national debt has tripled in the last few years, Who is going to pay this down?

My opinion, right now is probably a good time to buy guns, magazines and ammo if you intend to.. with an election coming up and the atf trying to extend its reach into our legally possessed items.. now might be as good a time as ever...

i hope im wrong.

My local ammo store did a free shipping deal on orders of $500 and above:

GA arms

The shipping cost can stop a deal at times. It meams a 10%-15% discount on my order here. I also don't have to drive over there and pick it up.

Does anyone think that ammo will get less expensive due to the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022? I shop and safe today. The worst thing that can happen is you have more ammo than you need. Your inventory will be worth more.

I hear you. I'd like to own a little more ammo than I need as a safety issue..

Should the unthinkable happen, I will run out of blood before I run out of ammo.

Amen, that's why I put "need" in quotes. ;) It was intended to convey the feeling of what most people thinks one needs as far as an ammo stash.

I have way more ammo than I "need" VR.

With brand New AK and AR mags hoovering in the $10 range, and Base model AR's going for $500 or less, yes, now is a good time. I paid $500 for my first AR about 35 yrs. ago. Inflation has tripled or quadrupled in that time. So technically that base AR (which was not made nearly as well as it is today) should be in the $1500 - $2000 range.

OK, it depends.

I did add to ammo at a recent ODT gun show. It was ammo priced cheaper than I can buy it anywhere in my area (and no sales tax). I spent $1220 for a lot of good ammo.

I have a few guns that are part of a Winchester collection. I've sighted them all in at 105' as they all have the same sights. It's not that I don't rotate each gun at the range. It's just that I know for sure how all of them will work.

And 30/30 ammo is too expensive to waste for no reason.

It's the same with my Colt Government 1911's in .45 ACP.

Another thing. I doubt the more popular guns have not dropped in value. I made three different fair offers on three different guns and all offers were declined.

Most guys are firm on prices.

I never sell, but I'd hold out for my fair price.

I agree. Biden has already moved us to $31.9T National Debt.

That Debt will be $50T soon. It's the younger folks that will pay it as they know nothing about accounting and debt. They will get a huge tax increase.
