I have a H&R M1 that appears to be all original rec no. 4,72x,xxx barrel 3-54 except the trigger housing D28290-12SA the parkerizing is all the same color (dark gray to black) is it possible that the trigger housing is original also. also tell me what a punched P on the barrel means .... national match ???

While early (4.66) production HRA rifles were known to have used SA parts, by the time HRA produced your rifle they were using all HRA manufactured or proprietary subcontractor manufactured parts. The punched "P" is a proof marking and not indicative of any NM application. The punch should be in the loop of the "P" in an original HRA barrel. This differentiates those HRA barrels used in a replacement role.
