This visitor, Coyote 1 was across the field from the back yard.
Coyote 2 popped up a minute later. They heard a neighbors small dog yapping.
Must have thought it was a breakfast call.
This is in the city limits so no shooting and there are houses behind those trees.
Our neighborhood butts up against a wildlife preservation area so we see a nice
variety of animals and birds including hawks, owls and Woody Woodpecker.

My brother lives in the UP of Michigan and has a half a dozen deer along with turkeys, coyotes in his yard almost every day. They have a little dog and have to be outside with it when it goes out to keep it safe. And the deer eat their apples and garden. Pesty buggers.
I have a peach tree outside my backdoor, of which it's loaded with peaches every year that I've yet to taste one. Darn squirrels!!! One of these days I'm gonna stop playing nice and get my peaches back.
