Hello friends, my name is Faeryn. (Pronounced Fair-Un, it's of Pagan origin, means 'of the faeries'). I am a house-chick/writer from the Great Pacific Northwest, recently transplanted to southern Arizona. (Big change!) I am a second supporter and enthusiast, with emphasis on the 1911. (Emphasis meaning obsession.)

I am a proud, responsible, legal, card-carrying owner and carrier, and very proud to have a significant other who dedicated a decade to serving us in our military and another decade (and still counting) risking his life for us every single day as a dedicated law enforcement officer.

I am here to network with like-minded folk and to learn about something I'm not all too familiar with.... the .40 caliber. As my SO's service weapon is currently a .40 caliber, we have in excess of 4,000 rounds of .40 caliber ammo. Before I get another 1911, at his request we need to purchase a .40 caliber for me to carry and plink off a few thousand rounds AND THEN we can look into a new 1911 for me. (Cross your fingers for a Nighthawk, friends! I'll be a good girl, I promise!)

I look forward to talking with you folks, especially those of you who carry 1911's or have reliable information for me on your .40 caliber experience and information.

Along with firearms, my interests include:
welding/fabricating
hanging sheetrock
auto/diesel mechanics
motorcycles
gardening
faeries
IT
painting/photography
writing
Marvel comics
home brew
history
pool

From My Cold, Dead Hands,
Faeryn

Welcome from the US territory of Mexico, that is El Paso. I was born and raised in the PNW, central Washington more specifically. I’ve also lived in Arizona, a fine state.

In search of a 40, might I suggest the HK VP40.

Welcome to G&G!

What a coincidence! I grew up in Sea-Tac, went to college in Pullman (WSU), and went to Arizona for 5 years in the Air Force. It was quite a climate shock!

Welcome to the Forum from the Peoples Democratic Republic of New York. We Upstaters keep on looking for a way to disconnect our part of the state from the sheeple in the Rotten Apple and its four bedroom-suburb counties. Please don't blame us for Upchuck Schumer; he keeps getting elected by the Democratic Partei sheeple in NYC, and he sincerely believes that the northern border of the state is the northern border of Westchester County!

Thank you for the welcome wishes! I am from the western half of the state but I'm familiar with some of the central areas. I already miss Washington terribly, but I'm getting used to AZ. Already been stung by a scorpion!

I appreciate your input, more than I can express. The other half is against anything HK, I believe because his service weapon is currently an HK (although they're switching over to a 9mm Glock here shortly) and he's not a big fan. So I'd have a hard sell with the HK bit, but... I've been known to be fairly persuasive when necessary. :)

Thanks for your input. Much appreciated.
