As some of you may remember during the last election Dan Rather told us if the wrong man got in the economy would go down the toilet?Bush got in and the economy did indeed go down the toilet, first time Dan ever told us the truth.
Well, November is drawing close and the economy is starting to get better, perhaps too good,so today the media is screaming the economy us plunging, etc. just like they did back then.
Now look for the big question to pop up soon."Are you better off now or when Clinton was in office?"
Yeah,I know, history repeating itself,OLD news, boring.Well I may be back after the dust settles, perhaps we will have some NEW news then.

  2. Rave, do you really think Gore had your wallet in mine? You bet....he woulda wanted everything that you might have in it.

I'll be the first to admit the economy went to hell but unless you convince me Bush had something to do with 9-11 I'm still hanging wid da Bush.

Come to think of it maybe Gore had something to do with it.....mmmmm.

Look at it this way if we had Gore in office China would be in PRK. Gore would have apoligized to Osama and Sadam for upsetting them. The military wouldn't be using any sort of weapon unless it was eco friendly. And Hillary would still be directing the executive office.

And now Gore has moved back here and that makes it really bad I have to hear about this fool all the time

You go Shaun! I don't care what is said, can you imagine if Gore had been elected...this country would have been the laughing stock of the world. The terrorist would all figure, "I guess it's ok to go after the infidels now, they sure aren't going to do anything about it."

Can anybody show me one thing the republicans, have ever done for the working man? The economy allways goes to hell when they are in office. The only thing they care about is the big money
money boys.Yes, I was a lot better off when Slick Willy was in office.I still had my guns, now I had to sell them to make house payments,so $1,000 guns went for $300.00.

If Gore the bore had gotten in you wouldn't have any guns to sell. And your days of being able to buy more would be creeping slowly towards the end. Save, save, save even when the economy is good. I did!

the dumbocrats don't do anything for the working man...I hope you're smart enough to see that.

  9. Democratic Party Sold Labor down the River...

The Democrats sold the working people of this country down the river shortly after Carter left office. Carter was the last great president we have had. Unfortunately, what made him a great man led to us getting walked over and compromised our preparedness for the final showdown in the Middle East.

The Democratic Party is now a mishmash of special interest groups, most of which stand for agendas that simple Mid-Western folk like me don't cotton to...

I really don't trust any of them anymore. Sure, once in awhile we get thrown a bone, then they take it away. I did have higher hopes for G.W. but I'm starting to wonder about him too. I do think we are better off than having Gore, but jeez, can't we do better?

It will take about a week or so for me to dig it up,but I think
you will find that every major bill passed in favor of the working man ,since 1929,was passed by the democrats.I think the first
    was the minnimum wage law.

    Fred I am sure hoping that you are not that naive to think the Democrats care about the working man. Let see some of the working man policies that they have passed;

Tarrifs - reduces foriegn competition and raises prices on items at the store.

Workplace laws - (such as the ones Clinton signed going out and Bush stopped) seem to have a good intention, but reduces competition for the big Unions and causes the small business owners to suffer

Social Security - takes money out of my pocket that I could be putting away for retirement and forces me to invest in a scam of a program that is worse than anything on wall street

The death tax - steals from the working man who worked hard all his life and takes from his children what he wanted to leave them

The minimum wage - this hurts small business owners and forces them out of competition with the wal marts

Affirmative action - yeah this is fair to the working man well some of them anyway

Fred You can keep these so called working man policies and the party that passed them. The economy is more complex than to point a finger at one person and say its his fault. This economy was on a downturn before Bush ever got into office and was severly impacted by 9/11, but I suppose you believe that was his fault also? The Clinton economy was on the upswing before he took office and I think is tied directly to the com tech industry and its rise. If you look at the economy I think you will find that it took a hit about the same time clinton sued Microsoft.

I am not giving Bush a free ride. If he is guilty then he should be in jail just like the rest of them. But I don't think he is. He appears honest to me. I don't care for his givaway programs and can say he has been a big dissapointment to me after 9/11.

Has any Democrat since JFK even considered a tax cut?
Has any democrat ever thought of anything besides raising taxes to buy votes that were for sale?
Has any Democrat ever given the taxpayer a tax REFUND?
H*ll no,the Democrats just keep regulating us taxpayers and redistributing our hard earned money after they take it from us,and if we refuse.....dead meat!

Last good Democratic president was John Kennedy. Last good gun friendly Democratic preisdent was John Kennedy. With all of his faults John Kennedy would have been the greatest president this country ever had... that's why he had to die. Big business hated him because he was going to end the fiasco in Vietnam and cut their profit margin dramatically, the crime bosses hated him becasue he was breathing down their necks and the labor unions hated him because he was on to their corruption. Only ones that liked him were the people. When he was assasinated the Democrats blamed it on the gun... and inadvertantly on us, the common man and that 's when the Democrats turned their back on the working man. 1963. :(

BTW- Neither of his brothers could hold a stick to JFK, especially the hero of Chapaquidic(?).

  15. Fred I can relate--I am a strong right conservative. I think it is a shame that a person has to sell his beloved firearms to make a house note. Been there done that. It's easy to say --save your money--If there is any left. Let's be thankful we can still own firearms. You know my wife and I live modestly and I am thankful for everything that we have.

i refuse to part with any of my firearms, mr vetter points it out, he sold his guns to make a house payment, then what its putting a a bandaid on an arterial bleeder. what do you do for the next month??? also if he really wanted to sell them he could have mentioned it here and maybe got full value for them. as far as economic woes go, what did Slick Willy do that made the economy pump???

slick willy raised taxes as soon as he got in office, and that made the economy slump. as far as helping the country, he hasn't done a thing. if he has done any good that i don't know about, it is far outweighed by the treason, corruption and harm that he has brought us.

The democrats aren't there to help the working man any more than Lenin or Marx when they said workers of the world unite. They are the Robin Hood wanna be outlaws who think that as long as they give to the poor something, it doesn't matter who pays, so long as it isn't them.

Dem's want nothing more than socialism thats why hillary care would have impacted all of us and then of course they want the successful and the people who have worked hard to save and invest to give all their money away in taxes to support the lazy people who want a free ride from the gov. Fred you Live in TN just like me you saw what was happening at the capital last month the dem's wanted a state income tax to fund more socialistic programs and we beat them why? the republicans don't support taxation and taking the money from productive people in our state they believe if you are productive then you should not be penalized but rather your higher income may lead to a greater economic impact through spending and reinvestment.

The federal tax rebates that came out last year is another republican benefit finally the government recognized the excess funds the government had was ours the tax payers and not the politicians. You say Slick willy was good and Gore would have benefited the economy - I doubt that the guy can't tell the truth when it comes to anything remember he claimed to invent the internet and several other things he claimed to live and grow up in TN when he really lived in a Penthouse in DC. Also like the others said your wouldn't have the 2nd amendment backing you if the Dem's had their way.
