Well as said hi from sunny WA.
I’ve been an avid shooter from a young age, back when firearms were prevalent here in Oz. After leaving home and during my $broke$ 20’s, growing up 5 kids into my 30’s I hadn’t touched a gun in years. So when finally I’d saved enough at 35 years of age to buy my very own rifle, handling the cold steel and timber, smelling the sweet gun oil was indescribable. A proper man’s long arm of my very own, a brand new 336 Marlin in 30-30. Now 17 years later I’ve a few more in the safe, reloading for the center fires; well it gets me 1/2 MOA with the faster ones but also a a kinship that I just don’t feel with any other of my possessions

Welcome from SW Ohio. I was stationed at Fairchild AFB (near Spokane) many years ago, We loved the area - next military move was to Florida, talk about a drastic change of scenery.
Hope you enjoy visiting and sharing with the G&G family, good number of interests to choose from, so I know you can find something that will interest you.

LOL - I was thinking WA = Washington. You were referring to Western Australia. It would have helped if I had read the complete title of your thread. Crikey - I need to wake up and smell the coffee.
And start Waltzing Matilda.

Welcome from the Pacific Northwest, Washington state. Had the opportunity to work with some Aussies in the Military. They are a fine and hardy lot and make fine soldiers. If you move to the states, avoid the west coast, Washington, Oregon and California, our government has turned on us out here as well.

Not those two. You will find yourself back where you are. Go to Florida, Texas, Oklahoma someplace predominantly red. It's all one big party, but the people in the populace who comprise them are the ones you want to be among. Maybe better if you distribute those rifles and make a stand at home. What has happened to y'all is the plan for all of us. I'm still hopeful that there are good forces deep in the US government with a plan to right the ship, but It's likely that you can't run from it. A stand against it wherever you are may become necessary.

Yes Ranger we can be a determined and hard headed bunch us Aussies. In 2020 February the misz and I did the Everest base camp 13 days hiking in the Himalayas. Days varied from -5°C to 10°C and nights down to -15°C, so in camp I wore long johns and fleece. However I’m a hot hiker and consequently did the whole trekking task daily in shorts to the delight of the locals “why you use half trouser?”, and a couple of Americans I encountered “wow these Aussies are a tough bunch”

I have learned a couple of Hymalayan grilling recipies over the years .... Hymalayan Possum BBQ - I found Hymalayan on the side of the road and decided to cook him up. Works for Raccoon, Woodchuck, Rabbit, etc. Never tried it personally, but always willing to give others a chance to sample a culinary delicacy. 🐇🐁🦔
