So, how do the Hi Point carbines come out in the classifications being looked at defining weopons to be either banned or regulated.
Haven't seen any mention on what calibers apply to these new restrictions. Since most of the bans seemed aimed at .223/5.56 stuff there are still a lot of weapons with pistol grips, foreward grips and such.
I realize that gun banners are completely brainless morons, however, how do these drones mix up their own definition? We all know here, that the term "Assault Weapon/Rifle" was invented by the left to talk about any rifle that LOOKS like a military style firearm, regardless of fit & function, but who's the dumb a$$ who got that and the Hi-Point mixed up?! There isn't even a comparison there!
Sorry about the angry rant; but when they come after my Hi-Point too, it becomes just a tad more personal. I love my Hi-Points!
Yikes--one of the few threads I've seen where we are trying to outguess statist idiots.
I wouldn't put alot of time into trying to worry about what the gun banners are going to do. We're not going to turn in our guns anyway so screw them. Why would you give them the satisfaction of giving them your worry over what they may do ? Or even devote your time to looking at some "list" they might make up. Scoff at them. Carry your Hi-point with pride, my boy.
I have 2 995's -- with +P+ BB 9mm the ballistics approach low end .357s. Great guns and never missed a tic. The ONLY complaint I have is the relatively low capacity 10 round magazines but other than that great guns in every way.
If the new confederacy gets cash strapped, this would make a great rifle for foot soldiers.

That is my thought too. Once again, they use a spree killing to justify banning ownership of a tool. I wonder if propane tanks for outdoor grills would now be classified "Assault Weapons" if they had exploded as planned and took out the cafeteria.

Think maybe if I stick a flower and some peace stickers on it, the rifle will lose it's propensity for sneaking out of the safe and shooting up the neighbourhood?
Maybe I can get one of them mag pouches that strap to the butt and put a walkman in there. Play some Elton John and Liberache to calm it down.

Likely thing is, if it has a thumbhole grip, pistol grip, takes high cap mags, was on the 1984 AWB list, or, well, is black and just looks scary to them, odds are, it'll be on the list of proposed banned items.
I refuse to own any assault weapons (AW) I have never ownedone and I will never own one. The cost of the guns and ammo is just too expensive, unless we get rid of the Hughes Act.
Now on the other hand I do have a few Counter-AssaultWeapons (C-AW) but those are for sporting and defensive use only and yes I would like to add a Hi-point 9mm carbine to that list, but only if it is the C-AW model with the mag that comes out when I am done shooting to make the rifle "extra" safe, the grip that kinda looks like whats on a pistol, a small red dot sight so I know right where my bullets are going to go, only use those bullets that dumps all their enery when they hit something so they stop in the target without passing through endangering anyone or anything on the other side and the model that only fires one round per pull of the trigger.

Well the fact is i was just kidding, you can dress up that gun all you want but it won't do any good. Nope! You highlighted a different behavioural problem.
What you really need to do is to enroll it in some obedience classes so it will stop sneaking out, making some unsuspecting model citizen into a murderer. And make sure you treat it with love and kindness. Abused firearms tend to get mean and bite people; and at that point, not even shock collars will make it behave.
Good luck with taming your pet! If you find you can't make any headway, send it to me and I'll see what I can do for you.
Honestly, I'd give it away and forget to whom, rather than let the Haji's Politbeuro take it. Not that that's an option. I have it because it keeps The Ruling Haji Sultan from becoming as opressive as he wants to.
Its just scary to them because they have no idea what it is, how it operates, what caliber, or what it does. They are scared of their own shadow.
