Yah it didn't look difficult at all in the video on youtube. I think Ima pick one up just for shitz and giggles. And the 9mm isnt too ugly look better than the 40 cal thats for sure. Not a big fan of the battery pack lol
Guys, I agree it is easy to take down....Just tried it...
However, again, it takes something to "break it down", correct me if I'm wrong (and it won't be the first time) but most pistols (not rifles or shot guns) can be field stripped without anything...push a button in and flip the lever, and everything is apart....Yea I know it just does not fall apart..but you know what I mean..
People like ease....if you have to "have something" to tear it down then that makes it hard...
Not my thinking...just 21 + years in the Army and seeing the new generation growing up....

Agreed...I love my Hi-Point....I have shot just as good as my fellow friends who have Taurus, Kimber, Ruger, and a few others.....
Is it as beautiful as those...absolutely not.....But as my boss says....if your going to shoot someone...may as well shot them in style.....well maybe not...
I will shoot against anybody as long as the distance is not more than the furthest distance that can be found in my home....My pistol can place all rounds fired within a 5 - 10 inch circle....
Sorry if that does not impress the the people that paid $1000+ for their pistol...but mine is not for looks it is to defend my family....
I have a Hi-Point 9MM, it was one of the gun i started out with years ago, and never had a single issue with it. My main firearm of choice is S&W's, but in my opinion Hi-Points have very good reliability as well, and have a lifetime warranty as stated here. I haven't took mine apart yet, although I'd like to at some point, but nevertheless it's really reliable, and i keep the spare mag loaded with Winchester hollow points for home defense which i hope an incident like that never has to happen in all honesty but it's there just in case.
As for Sigma's, i own a SW9VE 9MM Sigma and have never had a problem with it either. Shot well over 200 rounds through it if I'm not mistaken, and it functioned flawlessly. I know allot of people don't like the trigger pull, but after the first time shooting it at the rang i got used to it, and now I'm so comfortable with it i find myself squeezing off two rounds at a time at the range without even noticing it. My only point is as long as someone feels comfortable with the gun, and likes it that's all that matters. =) These are just my humble opinion's though, and i say them respectfully. ^^
How did it totally suck?
If it was defective, why didn't you send it in for the unlimited lifetime warranty?
Also, I had problems with my Raven .25 too. I sent it back and got it replaced free too!
I just bought a Hi-point C9 about a month ago for $167.
Haven't shot it much yet, but so far - so great!
I have a friend who has a bunch of 9mm ammo, but no gun so I'm waiting for him to locate it then will send several hundred through it.
As far as dis-assembly goes. it's not that big of a deal, as it's only recommended every 1500-2000 rounds (and the barrel brushed every 300-400 (have the manual right here)).
OT: I have a Ruger .22 Mark 1 pistol that I shot many thousands of rounds through and didn't disassemble it for over 20 years - just cleaned and oiled what I could get through.
Easy to disassemble, just flip out the lever in the back - had to wait for a manual in the mail to figger out the reassembly though...! LOL
I'm hoping it's good for another 20 years!
Just shot some Brown Bear ammo in my c-9. All I have too say is DON'T DO IT!
Out of 50 rds the gun jammed 19 times. I went back to my Federal and 50 rds no jammes.
I am a clumsy idiot, and I've had my HP JHP [.45acp] completely taken down twice with success [and personal stress]. I only did this because of a dunking in a pond while attached to my hip, and another several hours in a pouring rain. I just felt like it needed all moisture removed & a new coating of grease/oil on the parts. I got it back together ok, and it has worked fine for the 2 or so years afterwards. I am a minimalist on maintenance of most of my firearms - only doing a total clean-up after they have been exposed to some sort of environmental trauma. I love the ugly brute.
There are videos of guys that have converted .40 S&W Hi-Points, both pistol and carbine, to 10mm Auto. If it'll live as a 10mm, (they were even shooting hot Cor-Bon ammo), it must be pretty solid and should last a long time as a .40 S&W. I have to admit that a 10-round 10mm semi-auto carbine does sound interesting.
I stayed away from Hi-Points for years because of negative range talk. Finally, I bought a 995TS from Roger my gun guy, on his recommendation. I took it out of the box, ran a bore snake down the bore then after several fun filled outings to the range, I managed to shoot off 24 boxes of reloaded and store ammo before it got so dirty inside, its trigger refused to reset. I'd blow the thing out with compressed air between outings and run a bore snake down the barrel, but the thing kept on ticking and never balked except for one box of sub sonic 158 JHPs that didn't have the poop to cycle the action. I fed and ingested everything. I love the ugly little twerp... so much, it convinced me to buy a C-9. I like it too.
As far as reliability goes with every semi-auto pistol or rifle I've ever owned, each has had feeding issues at one time or another, and it usually boiled down to the ammo I'd used, poor maintenance or both. Stay with what shoots well for you, maintain it and it should serve you well.
