    Hiya guy's :) ,

Most of you know that I'm a Star Trek / Star Wars junkie and I have a fairly nice Star Wars collection going. Well I thought it might be nice to add a lightsabre as the centerpiece of my collection. I started doing some investigating & found out that George Lucas originally used a vintage Graflex camera flash can as the chassis for the original anakin / Luke lightsabre in the original movies (a new hope / empire strikes back) so I thought it might be kool if I made one of my own.

I got lucky and found a vintage Graflex 3 cell flash can up for auction on Fleabay so I bid on it, and I'll be damned if I didn't win it for $60 shipped :) .

Now that I have the perfect & accurate chassis on the way to make Lukes lightsabre from ANH or ESB I started looking for parts & discovered tht I can get a complete basic parts kit for either version sabre from a place online called Wannawanga, I chit' you not ...

There are also a number of other lightsabre outlets for parts and accessories for custom sabre builds, here are a few of them :

and I'm definitely looking at buying one of these Graflex CE sabres from Ultra Sabres. These things are friggin' badazz & they're one of the best bang for the buck sabres on the market.

I also heard about a bookface group called Graflex Addicts so I decided to check it out and what blows my mind ids just how big the custom lightsabre world is and just how expensive it can be  . Some of these guys literally have a dozen or more custom built sabres, some of which took 2-3 years to get after ordering them to be buuilt with thousands of $'s in them, i've found sabres that are $7k + for crying out loud. Luckily there are more sensible guys like me that just want 2 or 3 affordable sabres with the leds & audio electronics basically for centerpieces for collections like mine. However the more I look into this, the deeper & crazier the rabbit hole of the sabre world goes  ....

My Grandson would love having a pair of those so Gramps and his buddy could duel it out.

Did you see the Han Solo C96 on Gunbroker last week? Someone added all the screen-correct bits they could without actually disabling the gun. I have never seen a firing replica before that one, but the reserve on it must have been over $1200 since that was the highest bid I saw and the reserve had not been met.

No, I didn't see that one but I've seen one or two others. The way I understand it there's only one guy that makes them and they sell for a buttload when he has one available for sale. There's a guy that makes some pretty nice wall hangers that he sells on Etsy and Craigslist he was trying to talk me into buying one the other day :).

I know I could sell Denix Broomhandles at cons almost as fast as I could put them out. If I knew a Browncoats group might be at a con I usually had similar luck with LeMat revolvers.

Now that a friend 3D printed out a grip guide for A New Hope Sabers & I was able to get the grips installed correctly, here's my Romans props episode 4 lightsaber that I picked up for $250 :) ...

If I decide to do an install for electronics for a sound card, speaker, LED holder and LEDs with a blade holder, my friend also 3D printed me a chassis that's inside the saber to hold it all where the three D size batteries would go

This one is my Hasbro Force FX Lightsaber that I ordered shortly after I bought my Romans props saber . Not too long ago these were sold at GameStop and they were clearance priced for $60 a piece but that was then and this is now. I ended up ordering This One from GameStop online for $120 but it's complete with realistic sounds and a nice LED blade that lights up in sequence and activates from the hilt to the tip of the blade and then deactivates from the tip of the blade back down to the hilt so it looks realistic and it's really cool. Needless to say my niece and nephew love trying to beat me with it because of the really cool Clash on flash sounds that makes :) ...
