How do you like your SP 101? I was looking at that and GP 100. I had chose the GP 100 because I shot a friend's and really liked it. Another friend has the SP 101 and praises it so now I'm beck to decision making time. I am planning on buying within a week or two (expecting a check from a sale). There is a gun show in Miami on the 17th & 18th where I can handle them both but I have shot the GP 100 and liked it a lot.

Does the SP's grip seem small? That is how it appears in the photos.

Have SP-101. The GP-100 is a great gun as well, but it's a 6-shot on a larger frame. Mine are the 2" version; I sometimes think the 3" would be ideal for a combination CCW and home/car defense .357. It's a little heavy and bulky as a snub compared with a Smith J-frame but this greatly enhances shootability with heavier ammo--I sometimes think of the Rugers as the proverbial "block o' steel." I've shot the Buffalo Bore heavy .357's in it -- the muzzle blast might make my teeth hurt but the gun is managable and strength isn't an issue. The grips on the SP-101 don't seem small to me at all (bigger than even the aftermarkets I have on my Smith J-frame) but this would depend on how big your hands are I guess--the only real answer would be to try it out for yourself (and you could always get any grips you wanted for the gun). The only potential defects I've found are small and hard to see sights (which could be fixed in several ways) as well as the kinda sharp hammer which can snag if the gun's used as a pocket revolver (and I can't find any aftermarket or bobbed hammers anywhere).

Home defense gun here (like Sgt) is Taurus Judge, with Buck and Colt -- nice looking gun btw !

Assorted revolvers stashed in various places around the house. 357 or 38, plus a 12ga coach gun at my bed side. I don't care what brand it is as long as it goes BOOM when I pull the trigger.

    Glock 20, 10mm Number one house/carry gun

But I'm thinking a nice .357 or .44 revolver is going to be my next purchase...

Billy, what model of grips do you have? They look like the 111.
