Hot List

Discussion in 'The Powder Keg' started by shaddownone, Apr 6, 2002.

  1. How about a hot list, where people can search to find out if a gun was stolen? While it won't have all of them, it could prevent one stolen gun bringing down an honest shooter. Maybe it can be populated with ATF and insurance company data...

I believe if you knowingly buy a stolen gun you are just as guilty as the person who stole it !!!

That would be very hard as if I am not mistaken, most of the lists are not public knowledge....If I am not mistaken mind you.

  3. That's my point make them public

That's my point, make the hot guns public.

If joey can't sell the gun because everyone knows it is hot, maybe joey won't be selling hot guns... They all have unique S/N's for the past 100 years or so. And once stolen a gun no matter how many times re-sold is still controban.

Honest shooters & sportsmen have everything to gain, the loosers will be the crooks, and resellers.....

I don't think ATF will allow Joe Smoe to call and findout to see if its hot or not. But that is interesting.
