Barrel date means nothing if it was rebarelled as many or most were. The serial # is going to be on a production date which can be found close to in Scott Duffs book's or by Ed CLancy's papers which is actual arsenal files. Hope this helps. RIck B

This one and the next and next ect ect. are in english. the translator wasn't that bad .I sayd that if he will mail me his serial of the garand I will thell him the production date and mayby where his garand went to after fabrication. navy/infantry or marines ect.
