I mentioned before that I am done with my handguns. JMO.

I am searching for a really nice (95%) older rifle. It has to be made in the USA.

This is no offer to buy (that would be in another thread). It is what you think is a good place to be looking: Marlin, Winchester, Henry, Mossberg (I just got their new catalog and own a 870), or other?

Pics as promised: I have 5 Winchester 94's (two are pre-1964):

With a scoped Marlin 336C in 35 Remington (excellent gun, BTW):

Just asking for suggestions and appreciate any feedback.

The wife just walked by and gently lifted my chin back up....
I get it. We always respect and support our wife. No doubt.

My wife has already spent thousands of dollars in remodeling our home. She ordered two new ovens to replace the one that she never used. :)

It's just that a nice older rifle may increase in value vs. a stock or a bond investment today? Bonds are paying barely any interest while stocks hit a new high last week. Real Estate prices are way above any value that we would ever understand.

I say buy a nice rifle for value and her protection.
