If these single shots came in more traditional calibers, I would be all over it.

Well I guess for the first year they limited their selection. You can get it in 243, 308 ,45/70 and 44 magnum. Not too bad to me. You can get the new lever actions in most calibers by the way also

Very nice, I like it :) . I'm not a fan of AR's but I've often pondered picking up a bolt action 223 / 5.56 because they're cheaper to plink with than my 22-250 :) ...

I have no doubt they will be available in more calibers later on, I just couldn't believe they didn't bring one out in 30-30. My caliber lineup probably wouldn't have sold as well, if they made a 30-30 I can promise it would be popped to either 30-30 Ackley or 30-40 Kraig. If they made a 357 I would have popped it to 357 Maximum. I will admit the 44 mag was tempting but I've never been a fan of the 44 mag.

Call me odd, bit I will wait for their *hopeful* success and expansion in this line.

very nice looking little rifle. I have a similar looking old revelation .410 single shot. that little thing will keep on trucking well after i do... that Henry looks much nicer to boot and its in a caliber thats worth something!

do you happen to know what the barrel lenght is? .223 out of a nice long barrel has some good energy.

Edit: https://www.henryusa.com/rifles/single-shot-rifle/

Henry says they are 22" barrels, great for that .223, also they have some nice pics of the rifles as well, very very nice. looks like it'd carry real well in the field. and you can be fairly sure it wont be regulated out of legality!

That is a beautiful rifle! Worthy of the craftsmanship of decades gone by.

What did that set you back? Looks like a good rifle, but I'll probably hold off thinking about one until they make it in 7.62x39 ComBloc.

It was $410. I hear you about the 7.62x39. I want one also. One of my favorite smaller 30 caliber rounds. I wanted a different rifle in the 7.62x39 years ago and already had a few SKS,s. So I made my own bolt action from a Mauser action I had.

After 100 rounds please check the butt stock. I sent all 3 of my single shots back to Henry because they got loose or cracked. All of them are on there 2nd and 3rd butt stock.

I would say partially that, and the square design.
any high spots would automatically become a stress point.

Wow! Is this damage exclusive to the single shot models or is it common through all models? I have on my wish list, two separate model Henry's (none single shot) and would be heart broken if this is an actual running problem.
