I wish I could use the ignore function on the phone app without having to log in on the browser.
Thanks again to @billy for directing me to it years ago!

Sometime, I want to tag a use just to let them know that they're on my blocked list. Usually though, they get bored and leave, or they get banned.

I most assuredly ignore certain members, but I don't engage the "ignore feature" here on G&G to do so.

It’s interesting. I’m on “ignore” list from having
“Sir” and communication with certain past and present members

    sure; I’m guilty

I read everyone. Even knowing; some; I don’t enjoy much that they share.

I consider all. A product of learning

That's what I do Chaz. Getting so good at it that I can look through a post, glance right over someone, and then not even remember seeing that they'd posted!

You, neophyte, are a better man than I!

    I don't "ignore list" anyone.
Everything goes in cycles. Sometimes some folks are itching to argue. Other times, those same people will write an encouraging message that shows what their heart truly is. I come on here to be entertained and learn and hopefully do the same for others once in a while. I am not going to spend much time on arguing. As far as I'm concerned, opinions are opinions. Some opinions are firm and unchangeable, and some can be persuaded to a different direction - including mine.
Sometimes my posts are written when I have been more distracted than I realized and I regret having actually posted them. But..."so solly"...I didn't claim to be prefect and don't expect others to be either. If anyone is offended by me, I do hope they say something - so I know. I try, but sometimes keyboarded words are not the best way to convey thoughts.

When someone is contradicting themselves several times on the same thread - or if they are picking a fight - I know exactly how much time to spend on reading any further. I move on to things that I do enjoy. Nothing is saying I must reply to a post. And like the weather, conditions change soon enough.

(Of course, now I've opened myself up for misunderstanding when I'm not able to get on to the forum. But most people are patient and understanding, so that's not a huge risk to me.)

And, most importantly, these are my thoughts and opinions. YMMV, and I hope they do. I won't learn anything otherwise.

Good points Junction....We don't live in a perfect world. Sometimes a long time respected member will post something that seems a little off. No big deal, I have done it as well. Two things that do give me pause:
First: Someone who continues to post inane questions or observations over and over without actually rereading before they hit send.
Second: Naysayers who just love to jump into a non-controversial with a negative comment and no follow up as to why they disagree.

These ARE minor complaints as 99 per cent of the members here (guys and gals) are simply bullets.

Craig I cant imagine anyone putting you on their ignore list. You will never be on mine. I dont hit the ignore button for a few agitators on here. I just plain ignore them when I see them stirring the pot

Wow I didn't know we had an ignore list.
I'm fairly thick skinned, it takes a lot to bother me.
If I don't like what someone said I just skip it & go on.
Most likely they don't know what they are talking about or don't understand the question. So all my comments won't help a thing.

I think the whole thing came about by a few trolls that came along within the last 6 months or so -- along with a few 'newer' members who switched ID's, have multiple names, or decided to have incoherent posts designed not for discussion or advice but to stir the pot with nonsense. For what agenda no one knows (but the timing sure gets the tin foil hat a pinging). They usually out themselves pretty quickly. Folks here closely guard a wonderful site full of great people while welcoming folks who are authentic and honest. Dishonesty takes away from that.

Yup. I've gotten into it with people, and people have gotten into it with me. I might even be one of those people who have contradicted themselves on the same thread as I learn something new.

    I refuse to block anyone.

I accidentally did it once when I was fat-thumbing my phone, and I was so confused the next time I read a thread and started seeing responses to things that weren't there.

I'd rather be mad than confused.

Besides, everyone goes through bad times, and everyone gets argumentative once in a while.

  15. I admit I have a couple of folks on my ignore list. For reasons I have yet to personally understand, about 90% of their posts either annoy me or I fail to understand the relevance to the topic being discussed.

I do my best to stay off other folk's last nerve and out of threads which might cause me to run off at keyboard. If I accidentally do, I apologize. :)

    Not that I've noticed.
I was thinking of a newer member, and I let them get under my skin a little. A few other folks must have also gotten the same feeling by what they posted. So...I just avoided that for a few days.
And sometimes when I get a little ticked off, I realize that I'm taking myself too seriously. Stepping back a little helps me adjust my perspective.

And in my case, I hope no one gets offended if I don't give a "like". Quite honestly, I get so wrapped up in reading that I forget to do that. Sometimes I go back to click on them, and sometimes I figure it will look "stupid" to give "make-up likes".

Anyway, enough on that topic for me.

No ignore list for me, I can read over the trolls and those I usually disagree with if need be (not too often). No two people will agree with each other 100% of the time. We can often learn from those disagreements. That’s what I like about G&G; even though some discussions get heated, at the end of the day, we agree to disagree and get on with life and remain on line buddy’s and buddettes. I don’t get into a lot of those discussions as I learn more by listening than talking. God gave me two ears over one tongue for that reason. I may interject a thought but try not to get lured in by the rabble rousers.

I have only VERY recently placed a couple on ignore and one is now gone. there are moments when I feel my blood pressure rising and I go away from those folks as quickly as possible. Other than that I just enjoy things here.

  20. Why does it surprise me not that a cantankerous old cuss like Bill would have a full and working knowledge of such a feature ;)
