If any of you received black India made M-1 Garand Handguards in your Sarco Parts. Originally the guards had a funky redish black stain. I was able to remove the stain with Denatured Alcohol. I used 1 1/2 gallon of denatured alcohol. Took 3" PVC pipe capped on the bottom end. Put guards in and fill with denatured alcohol. Soak the guards for several days. I used clear plastic to see color change. When to alcohol becomes a deep red color, change it and soak again. Don't get in a hurry. Longer the better.

The guards are minimum thickness. I 'll use em for time being. Have a son going away to college "Sam" and no more mad money for now.
