A few I picked up along the way:
Remember when you waited all week,
for the Sunday paper comics...
And they were actually funny.
^how true! and Snuffy was one of my favorites. Lil Abner too!
Looks like dogs habits haven't changed that much...
Neither has that guilty look.
What a beautiful old Dodge.
somehow I suspect it doesn't have the original power train....
Under the hood of that 1949 Power Wagon, is a 3.9-liter twin-turbo Cummins diesel engine producing 350 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque, paired with a five-speed manual transmission.
That custom truck cost $350,000.00
I can't tell from the picture but that truck's original M-37 running gear (axels & transfer case) is better than anything Dodge currently makes. but it is geared low so its probably not used on that hot rod. it is still a favorite for building swamp buggies down here.
^ my bad, the M-37 came out in 1951. that truck is older and would still have the older 1/2 ton running gear as original equipment.

There's a book about this guy.
James Cleveland "Jesse" Owens (September 12, 1913 – March 31, 1980) was an American track and field athlete and four-time gold medalist in the 1936 Olympic Games.
'Course, you ARE talkin' about a REAL man, not some overpaid cry baby!

Good strong coffee and a good old book.
