I hace an Investment cast 1903 that was rebarreled with a 1940's Remmington 30-06 barrel. I wanted to rebarrel it to a 220swift, Would this hold up to the pressure of the swift? I allready have a 700 that shoots sub 1"groups so I do not need another 30-06 so why not go varmit???

H.P White labs tested the Investment cast receivers around 1961 for safety and they were pronounced to be safe with 30-06 ammo. I wouldn't want to try anything with more pressure than a factory 06 in a cast reciever.
It's not worth the risk.

Is the gun still in it's original military configuration. If so I'd leave it alone. Wouldn't want to convert a cast reciever to anything remotely more powerful than a factory 06. Not sure I'd want to use it at all.
