Is there really a quality difference between the Italian & American made 92/96 fs? I've been toying w/ the idea of picking up a Vertec or an Elite, but was told many years ago to stick w/ the Italian made guns...much greater QC :right:

Almost no difference between them. Slightly older guns will have all metal parts. Newer guns will have plastic guide rod, right side safety lever, etc. Italian made magazines have an extra hole cut out on the lower left side, the US made ones do not.

If you are gonna buy a Beretta, get the 92FS model. Older pistols are marked 92F and do not have an extra chunk of metal to catch a broken slide. (Rarely happens, but comforting to have)
The Beretta 92F pistols work very very well. They are hard to beat.

  3. Is the Brigadier the best of the Berreta family when it comes to the 92FS?

The "best" really depends on if you like a safety or just a decocker like on the Elite. Either will serve you well ;)
