ithaca slug barrels

I have a Browning BPS that I want to put a slug barrel on. For what Browning wants I could just buy a new gun. Ithaca makes one that's 24 inch with a cantilevered scope mount for about $150. Has anyone heard anything about these replacement barrels? Any other ideas? thanks.

Hastings are good BBLS.

Ithica makes a mightty fine slug gun in the Deer Slayer. Didn't know they made aftermarket BBLS.

They must be fairly new because I can't find much about them. They sell them in Cabelas and at Gander Mt and you can see them at Ithacas site but I have yet to find anyone whos tried one.

Someone asked about them on the NWTF forum awhile back. No one knew they were making replacement barrels. All of the Ithaca's I have shot were fine guns, I would bet that there replacement barrels are good to. Good luck, and if you get one let me know how it shoots, I'm thinking about getting one for my Nova.

Well I finally decided to go with the Ithaca slug barrel, and I was pleasantly suprised at the range yesterday. I mounted a 2-7 leupold from eBay and loaded up withFederal 2 3/4 inch 3/4 oz Barnes HP saboted slugs. Took 3 shots to zero then I shot a group of three at 50 yards. The group beasured 3/8" center to center! Thats better than my 30-30. The group opened up to 2" at 100 yards, but I thought that was still quite respectable. Went back to the range today to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. I'm glad I saved half my money and went with the Ithaca. Thanks for all the replies.

ithica has a rifled cantalever mount and a rifled sighted bbl for the 870 and so far every one is really happy with them
i just wish they had one in cantilever with a smooth boar.
i like my breneke slugs.
