Llama .45 acp crap or not????

    I just got rid or my Llama .45 and i kind of miss it already. Geting rid of a gun is like loosing a dog. LOL well i put it towards another rifle so at least i got something out of it. well to get to the point does any one have a Llama and how do they like it? I dont know another person that has one or seen very many of them. I never had a problem with mine and put thousands or rounds threw it. every one on the net bad mouths it but never asked anyone in this forum. I always heard thay had bad soft steel slides but dont know if thats true it wasnt on mine. maybe it was one of those hit or miss productions?

    I own a 45 acp single stack Llama (1911 look alike) and love it.

    The only Llama I ever shot was my roommate's, and I did NOT like it.

    Well I could give no reasons, but I will. The thing was too heavy. I could not get good groups from it. Every time I fire it I could feel the slide rolling back and go clunk. The first real 1911 I ever fired, it just felt a lot better to me. Now this was a long time ago and he got his Llama straight from South America where he was working, so maybe a lot has changed since then. I am not saying it isn't a good gun now, it's just I did not like the only one I ever fired.

    My Llama Max 1 is a great shooter. I have a springfield as well, they shoot the same groups no jams smooth operation. It is a great weapon.

    Are the parts to your Llama truly interchangeable with 1911 parts?

    Yes they are, Llama has made more than one model firearm since you have seen them I guess. Here are some pics, on top is the Llama and Springfield on the bottom. In the second pic they are stripped on the left a Llama and Springfield on the left. You really should check out other Llama firearms before you judge them all.

    I have a Llama minimax and I cant say I have had many problems with it.. the safety feature on the handle is slightly annoying, but other than that it is a good gun. Looks and feels well made, plus it fits my hand well. Only real downside is the cost of ammo, but thats what my Star BM is for anyways.

    I have a Llama IX-A (M1911 clone) and I'm pleased with it. The barrel, recoil spring, slide release, and barrel bushing are interchangable. It takes (prefers, in fact) genuine US GI magazines. I can't say about all of them, but I think about 85% of the parts are interchangable with a GI M1911A1. Mine is fairly late production; and according to the pistol guru, by the time mine was made Llama had realized how important and advantageous it was to have parts interchangability with the GI version.

    I think it's hit or miss with them. I've had good ones and I have had bad ones. I loved the good ones that didn't jam.

    Yes we did and I see that some didnt learn anything from that first thread. Thats why I posted some educational photos again. Maybe they wont be ignored this time. The statement made about Llama, is like me saying I drove chevette once and it was crap so all GM cars are crap.

    Early Llama parts would not interchange. Later on some Llama parts would. Ask the seller. You are taking a big gamble if you think they will. Heck; as Llama changed, the old parts would not fit the newer Llamas.

    I guess debating a subjuct more than once is just silly . I mean who would want the congress to debate a bill that saved your rights more than once that is just preposteres . I mean free speach what ? Who needs it . We should all think one way and that is that . plleeeease
