Chill, it could have been a mistake.

Ok, so not glock, and chambered in 9mm. What else? Capacity? Compact? Subcompact? Mirco? Striker or hammer fired?

And price range, that would help as well.
I have the Springfield XDs Mod 2 single stack and they also make a Hellcat that's real nice...if you want more magazines get a gear up package. I also like their XDM models.
I also have a SAR 9T that is easy to CC and a joy to shoot.
I now have a Glock 19 Gen 5 and these are easy to CC
Walther PDP F-Series is easier to rack if you are looking for that kind of option, other manufacturers offer that capability in some of their firearms.
When you decide and get one. post a photo.

You're going to get a hundred recommendations. You just have to go and shoot some to find which is best for you. My current EDC is a Ruger EC9s carried in an Urban Carry LockLeather OWB holster on a Kore Essentials X1 belt. YMMV.

That's not what the OP wants. He said 9mm.

The P938 is a 9mm. The 238 is the little brother.

Don't forget Bersa! They make a compact 9mm (13+1) & a full size (17+1). The full size is comparable, in weight & size, to a light weight 1911. In Bersa's case, inexpensive does not mean "cheap". At one time, my wife & I owned 14 Bersas, .32 to .45 & no serious issues with any of them. One .380 would trip the decocker on recoil, but it worked itself out with use at the range.

I have several that could be carry guns. ruger max 9 , sccy dvg1, Taurus G3C (edit: forgot my Bersa)
I have put rounds down range with them and they all worked great. the sccy is my current ccw because of size and comfort when I am in my wheelchair.

Ok I'm sorry for late reply back to this thread, been working long hours lately, ill I was mad for the OG post being deleted for whatever reason. Let's try this again.

I'm looking for a lightweight CC semi-auto handgun, yes best ideal way is to test shoot every handgun available....but can't do that nothing like that around here so I'll have to just hold it.
I already have 3 handguns, none that I'd choose or want for a CC.
  • Taurus .44 mag revolver, enough said
  • Taurus .40 semi, its ok
  • Beretta 9mm, older M9 that's DA

Since I've already mentioned Glock, not a fan for 1 & only 1 reason too ! ....to a point of Hate any guns that have this feature. The little nubs for takedown to break it down and clean, too difficult to deal with - if they sold oversized takedown button I may reconsider a Glock style, if not then Never again (had a S&W Glock style, sold it)

Caliber - I'm going to say 9mm, I'm open to better suggestions though at the same time...
  • Bigger caliber, yes more knock down power + more physical weight to carry, so that's a hard sell
  • Smaller caliber than 9mm, ? I Don't know explain to me to sway from the 9mm..... .380 or ?
a good lightweight handgun in a .40 ?
I'll take a hard pass on the .22, sure it could get the job done. But do you hunt your deer, elk, moose, buffalo with pellet airgun ? If not why don't you ? It has been proven pellet airguns can kill all those animals. Do you see why I'm comparing these together ? Just because something can get the job done doesn't mean it's ideal to use outside of perfect scenarios.
- Needs to be a mass produced caliber that is available in the USA easily, so those odd ball calibers are kind of out.
Doesn't matter if its the best shooting heat seeking goes around corners caliber, if I can't buy it anywhere its worthless !

CC sights. I'd prefer iron sights have night sights on them or be able to buy aftermarket.
This is new to me, I heard that some of these red dot sights are motion activated to save battery, is this true ?
They turn on when pulled from holster & over a time shut off, can you count on them to turn on ? aside from dead battery.
Do they make CC holsters for handguns with red dots ?
Still want night sights for backup no matter what, no batteries.

Rails I want ! - under barrel for light or laser ( leaning more towards light use) though for CC do they make a holster for these added options ? then the extra weight.
top rail to allow red dot sight if want

The aged old question...... Price !
How much are you willing to spend ?...... How much are you all willing to contribute to my Go Fund Me page ?
:ROFLMAO: I'm just messing with you all :p I'm not like that, worked/ responsibilities since 12 yrs old that paid something.
Though to put a price on it, I'll say around the $750 mark either way , you show me a handgun with what I want under that price I may be swayed to buy it.... you show me a $1000 handgun that has what I want etc... I may be swayed to buy it too. I have a feel you understand what I'm saying, give me the gun I want.... the price is negotiable.

Another thing is the safety options, not much of a fan of click safety especially since its a CC handgun.
Am I worry to think this way ?
Also a Southpaw, to take into account for the handgun too, ambidextrous is a plus though a righty handgun is not out of the question ( all mine are righties) Just a lefty living in a right hand world, make do and adjust end of story.
Out of all my guns I've had or have, only 1 was a true lefty = since a bolt action hunting rifle bought.

I've looked a some FN, Sig's, S&W, ?
then the question of who/ what is Shadow Systems , are they any good ?

Here is a compact option under $750... SIG P365XL (9mm), it comes with the slide pre-cut for an optic. Depending on the optic you can also co-witness with iron sights (I have a Holosun 407 green dot on mine). It has 12 round magazine +1 (10 +1 in the communist states) and has a rail that will accommodate a light, laser or whatever you want to add.

There are dozens of holster options that will accommodate the optic or other options. You can get it with or without a safety and the magazine release can be switched from righty to lefty if you choose. Wilson Combat makes a really nice upgrade for the grip module that can be swapped out sometime down the road for around $70.

There will be a lot of opinions, but this is something to consider.

SIG P365 XL 9mm XSeries Pistol | SIG SAUER P365 XL

Another option, that I haven't shot but seems to be getting good reviews is the Springfield Hellcat. I think it's similar to the SIG, with optics cut slide, rail and come in 11+1 or 13+1 magazines.

Both worth fondling at your local gun shop to see if they fit your grip and meet your expectations.

We’ll soon find out, Tom 😂

Ok, you mentioned 40s&w in a small pistol. Look at the Springfield XDs. They come in 9mm, 40, and 45.

The #1 reason to choose 380 over 9mm is to get a smaller, more concealable gun. That’s it. 380 ammo is more expensive and less available than 9mm. I have a Ruger LCP that is easy to carry. I have several holsters for it.

I believe Shadow Systems makes the Gucci Glocks. Speaking of Glocks, they DO make extended take-down tabs. Gen 5 Glocks are ambidextrous, though I don’t think the 43 is available as ambi, and that would be my choice as it’s small.

My favorite micro pistol is the P365 series. They shoot well. I’ve never shot the Hellcat, but I hate the feel. They’re chunky compared to the 365.
