Hi all,
...we know that Ordnance was looking at using the Garand Rifle. They had in mind three(3) calibers. The .30 cal., the .276 cal. and the .256 cal. What was the minimum breakdown of the .256 cal. i.e. bullet weight, muzzle velocity, etc.
Have fun
Thanks again

Hi all,
The answer for the .256 caliber that Ordnance was looking for on the M1 was as follows:
"(2) Bullet, flat base, gilding metal jacket weight 140 grains."
"(3) Powder charge, sufficient of suitable military powder to give a muzzle velocity of 2600 f.s."
Hope you had fun on this one.
Thanks again
