Hey all, Im building an M1 Garand, but Im having trouble finding a receiver that's not $600+, do any of you know where I could find one for a decent price? I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

Jump through the hoops, get into the CMP programs. I bought receivers from them about ten years ago.

Be extra alert finding a receiver. Some companies bought demilled receivers and welded them back together. Friend of mine bought one and had troublre with it ever since.

Welcome from oklahoma. You are on a long and lonely journey my friend..Unless the CMP should suffenly find some in a bunker in some remote island your odds are slum.. Take your $650 and buy those $2 Powerball tickets. With your winnings by a CMP garand and fix it like you want it. If they are safe, the CMp just sells the whole gun.

If you do not own a Garand, it is a worthy tool that you seek. If you are under 40 go ahead and buy a mini 14 or 30, they are good shooters these days and totally reliable. My 30 will exit a 48 inch deer chest and leave a 2 inch exit hole, the gun shoots 1 inch at 100 yards, better than my Garand and the function is close.

Everyone gun guy should have a Garand, kind if like having a 45-70, you need one of those too. Good luck and welcome my friend.

Love the comment about buy a Mini 14. Best $$ i ever spent for fun, targets, varmints, self defense. Versatile and the Garand action is simple
