I finally got my M95 sporter to the range for a shake-down shoot. I put about 10 rounds of my 150 gr. bullet handloads through it. It shot fine and felt about like a .308 regarding recoil. The rifle itself is lightweight and easy to carry.

The bottom load worked OK, but it isn't something that would be much fun in the field. Not a big problem since I've never actually fired more than 5 shots at one outing when deer hunting. I did use 5 once and that netted 2 mule deer bucks and included 2 coup de grace shots.

The straight pull is neat! It feels natural and the cartridges fed nicely and smoothly. Without sandbags or a fore end rest I didn't do any accuracy tests, that will come next time.

Over all I'm pleased and if after the accuracy test it passes, this would be a nice backup deer or even elk rifle with those big .329 205 gr. bullets.
