Some day I promise I'll get a levergun or two. Definitely a big bore and probably an intermediate one and possibly a revolver caliber. One stupid factor is that it MUST have a curved P-grip. Due to a clutz injury last winter, operating a straight grip levergun hurts like heck.

Here's a comparison in each class:

Win 94 Timber, 450 Marlin, 18.5" barrel, 4rd tube

Marlin 1895 MR, 450 Marlin, 22" barrel, 4rd tube

Win 94 Legacy, 30-30, 24" barrel, 7rd tube

Marlin 336 C,W,A, 30-30 or 35 Rem (C only), 20" barrel, 6rd tube, available in Stainless Steel

Win 94 Legacy, 357 Rem Mag, 44 rem Mag or 45 Colt, 24" barrel, 12rd tube

Marlin 1894 PG/FG, 44 Rem Mag or 41 Mag, 20" barrel, 10rd tube

I have an 1894 in 44 mag and its the most fun to shoot rifle I have. My wife has taken 3 deer with it and my son has taken 9, I havent hunted with it much but I have shot 3 deer with it, the 20 inch barrel rides in a scabbard pretty good, sometimes I hunt off my mule... all in all HANDY best describes it

I really like my '73 model 336C, in .30-30. I used to think a lever rifle couldn't be as accurate as a bolt rifle, til I got this one.
Next, I'm wanting a lever rifle in .357/.38 caliber. My buddy has one, and it has impressed me.

BRG its depends on preference -- I have a 1893 Marlin that is similar to the 94 Marlin -- Great gun I will only own this style of bolt for the cosmetic 336 is ugly

94 Win is another I have and that is one that will probably get made into a 38-55WCF also a very good platform

You really can't go wrong with either of these as they are industry standards.
