Hello all,
Does anyone know the maximum effective range of the .45 Colt? I have an Uberti Colt 45 in 5 1/2" bl and a buddy has an 1892 Winchester in .45 colt. We are thinking of hunting with them and wondered what is the Maximum Effective Range of that round in those guns?

Of course it depends on how much you practice but you should be able to hit deer sized targets at 50 yards with the handgun and 150 yards with the rifle. With more practice these ranges can increase.
